WISE Charter School exists to ensure the academic and social development of students while restoring the essence of family and community with an emphasis on academic excellence, cultural awareness, and responsible citizenship.
Charter School was established in 2001. We began with nine teachers serving approximately
100 students in grades K-3.Today, we serve more than 300 students in grades K-7 and
we maintain a staff of 23 teachers, education assistants, special education
assistants, office staff, and kitchen staff. In 2009, our school will expand to include eighth grade and will serve approximately 370 students. To support this expansion, WISE is moving into the former Franklin Middle School building in North Minneapolis.
